Dr. Icilma V. Fergus-Rowe built Fiaro Essentials on her own authority as a physician. Then she hit the ceiling every founder-led brand hits. Napster partner Consolidated Computing put a digital twin of her on the website. It debuted at the Apollo Theater and answered in five languages.

The Challenge

One founder, one language, and a customer base outgrowing both.

Fiaro Essentials sells natural health and beauty products formulated by a working cardiologist. That's the whole proposition, and the whole constraint: every question a customer asked was really a question for Dr. Icy, and Dr. Icy was in clinic, lecturing at Mount Sinai, or running a community-education programme.

There was a second ceiling. The brand was selling in the US, but her community work already reached the Caribbean and her network extended to Italy, France and Great Britain. She speaks three languages. The website spoke one.

And she was, by her own description, a careful adopter: “I have a healthy respect for AI, but I wouldn’t say that I’m the most technologically advanced or savvy, so I needed something easy to set up and use.”

The Solution

Consolidated Computing built Mini Icy on Dr. Icy’s own material and her own voice, so the answer a visitor gets is the answer she would give. Mini Icy was then added to the live WooCommerce site with no replatforming and no rebuild.

The Apollo Moment

Dr. Icy’s Technical Advisor, Robert Rowe, took the stage to demonstrate the site. He started in English. Then he asked Mini Icy to say it again in French. Then German. Then Italian. Then Chinese.

“The crowd was like, wow, that’s amazing. People just really applauded. They thought it was so creative and so cutting edge.”

The room had come expecting a website; what they got was a conversation that could hear them. “Being able to talk in real time, have it think a little bit, and then give the answer — that really blew people’s minds.”

Then Robert asked her to switch back to English. She did, with an edge of personality: “it was a little sassy response, like, yeah, I got this, I’m speaking in English now.” The room laughed, and applauded again.
