Job Title: Scrum Master
Department: Technology
Location: Los Angeles
Job Description:
We're looking for an experienced and motivated Scrum Master to help take Napster's agile product development process to the next level.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrable ability to run multiple concurrent Scrums; will have a strong track record in implementing and managing test driven development, pair programming, continuous integration, and the other pieces of the Agile pie; and will be a champion of best practices, effective processes, and high-quality code. In addition, he/she will be a natural leader, eager to shape the future evolution of a truly cross-functional, team-centric, product-driven company.
This is a role for a seasoned Scrum Master, who has been in the trenches, got his/her scars, and is eager to apply their hard-earned knowledge and experience to creating a first-rate agile development capability.
Responsibilities:
- Work with product owners to craft and refine user stories;
- Drive sprint planning and estimation;
- Run stand-ups, track progress, hold retrospectives, etc.;
- Improve key aspects of current Scrum process;
- Work with a cross-functional team including Engineering, QA, Support, Outbound Marketing, User Interface Design and Product Managers
- Standardize Scrum practices across multiple Agile teams;
- Communicate key performance information to the wider organization;
- Mentor team members on Agile principles and responsibilities;
- Deploy and utilize appropriate tools and techniques to manage multi-site teams.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Agile project management experience, preferably with consumer software and/or Internet related media applications (digital music/media experience a plus);
- Certified Scrum Master qualification or 2+ years. experience working as a Scrum Master;
- Experience with Web Services development environments (Java, JS, LAMP, Perl);
- Ability to manage diverse constituencies and act as a semi-permeable filter between the needs of the business and the needs of the Agile teams;
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate both technical and business issues;
- Proven ability to build motivated, collaborative and productive development teams;
- Methodical, detail oriented, efficient, organized, highly productive, a true self-starter;
- A commitment to mentoring, coaching and evangelizing Agile across the organization.
- Excellent organizational, statistical, analytical, problem solving, written and oral presentation skills. Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency expected;
- Must be resourceful, self-motivated, and able to be successful in a non-traditional, fun, entrepreneurial team-based environment;

Job Title: Database Developer
Department: Technology

Job Description:
The Database Developer will be responsible for the design, development and support of the database application layer including data management processes that drive our business. Responsible for the overall integration architecture, development, access, extraction, transformation and loading of data into our database environments. Large volumes of internal and external data are managed on a daily basis with a growing segment of data requiring real time updates. The successful database developer will be responsible for developing innovative solutions and providing responsive operational support. The successful Database professional will also assist with day-to-day support and maintenance of finance applications, databases and reports for the Napster Finance team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Strong Oracle experience in writing Packages, Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Complex SQL and replication strategies.
- Work with application development teams ensure that database changes adhere to best practices & are properly prioritized / scheduled.
- Assist the software development teams in dealing with performance issues in all custom code released to production.
- Work with the team to develop logical schemas and data models of existing or new databases. Provide expert assistance in setting up table spaces, tables, indices, views, stored procedures and packages to support new requirements.
- Knowledge of Oracle internals; partitioning, indexes, schema and query optimization, parallel queries.
- Experience in Unix scripting language (Shell, Perl, etc.) and other language (Java, C, etc.) to help maximize application performance.
- Strong Understanding of Data Warehouse and OLAP concepts
- Experience with SQL Server 2000 a plus
- Be comfortable working in an agile environment (SCRUM/Lean) and welcome ambiguity
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
- Deploying data and schema changes for new application releases to all database environments.
- Develop and support UNIX shell scripts to support the database environment.
Minimum Educatio:
B.A./B.S. in related technical field
Minimum Experience:
- 3-5 years experience as a Database Developer in a 24x7 production environment.
- Proficient with SQL Tuning and SQL code optimization.
- Extensive UNIX shell scripting, PLSQL, and SQL skills.
- Experience in deploying schema changes for new releases with minimal downtime.
- Experience in a consumer-facing online company.
- Familiarity with Java, WAP, mobile applications, web services or programming interfaces
- Familiarity with Social Networking sites and technologies
Knowledge of:
- Oracle (SQL, PL/SQL), UNIX, XML, HTML and XHTML.
- Experience with Sybase or MSSQL a plus.
- Concurrent Version System (CVS) repositories
Analytical/Interpersonal Skills:
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Job Title: Web Analytics Developer
Department: Technology

Position Summary:
Napster is seeking a Web Analytics Developer. The Web Analytics Developer will face an exciting opportunity to define analytics and tagging strategies. The Web Analytics Developer will be the expert will work closely with the Director of Customer Analytics and various Napster teams, to successfully implement web analytics across all websites and lines of business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Optimize implementation of Omniture and ensure consistency with industry tagging standards.
- Manage corporate governance strategy for web analytics implementation, including: maintain documentation on existing processes and variable assignments, and recommend improvements; define update schedule; user management and code management including workflow for new requirements.
- Identify gaps in data tracking strategy and implement enhancements.
- Monitor and track key performance measurement requirements that drive product and marketing strategy.
- Identify, analyze and report key performance metrics within customer funnel - including trending reports of both behavioral and customer conversion and usage metrics. Analysis areas include customer acquisition and conversion, merchandising, personalization and recommendations, customer retention to enhance the overall customer site and music experience.
Essential Education, Skills and Environment:
- Bachelors degree but Master is highly preferred
- Experience implementing site analytics, A/B testing, behavioral targeting and survey tools on high volume web sites. Knowledge of best practices.
- At least three years experience working with standard clickstream analysis tools, particularly Omniture.
- Minimum three years of experience working in e-commerce development, implementation and coordination process
- Ability to interface effectively with operating management at all levels in the organization and must have strong communication skills.
- A "team-oriented" personality, effectively balance a strong sense of urgency with exceptional interpersonal skills.
